I am using a GParted ISO boot iso image with Hyper-v & an Ubuntu Virtual Machine where I want to resize the volumes after adding more disk space.

Error Message:

[ 0.0085051] PCI: Fatal: No config space access function found

Configuration:

  • Windows 10 with Microsoft Hyper-v.

  • Ubuntu operating system initially setup with 12GB was expanded to 30GB.

  • Microsoft Hyper-V Firmware settings are configured as an EFI SCSI Device of type "DCD Drive: and the "gparted-live-0.33.0-1-i686.iso" is loaded and set to boot first in the boot order.

Steps to duplicate:

  1. Powering on the VM loads the GParted live cd properly.

  2. Choosing any of the options: with the exception of to RAM(which hangs) results in the unexpected results3. Unexpected Results below.

    • GParted Live (Default Settings)

    • GParted Live (Default Settings, KMS)

    • GParted Live (To RAM, boot media can be removed later)

    • GParted Live Safe graphic settings (vga-normal)

    • GParted Live (Failsafe mode)

  3. Unexpected Results:

    • Hangs with the message:"[ 0.0085051] PCI: Fatal: No config space access function found"
