रंजीत गुहा दक्षिण एशिया के एक इतिहासकार है। सबाल्टर्न अध्ययन समूह में प्रभावशाली होने के अलावा[1], ये इस समूह के कई प्रारंभिक संकलन के संपादक भी थे। वर्ष 1959 में, भारत से ब्रिटेन के लिए स्थानांतरण किया और ससेक्स विश्वविद्यालय में इतिहास के एक पाठक थे। ये वर्तमान में वियना, ऑस्ट्रिया में रहते हैं।[2]


उनकी किताब, "एलीमेंट्री आस्पेक्ट्स ऑफ़ पेअसंत इंसर्जेंसी इन कोलोनियल इंडिया" को व्यापक रूप से एक क्लासिक माना जाता है।[3]
