Kayode Soremekun is a Nigerian academic, author of various books, and the second substantive vice chancellor of Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State.[1][2]

Early life and education
Soremekun attended King's College, Lagos, from 1972 to 1976, where he obtained his secondary school leaving certificate. He then proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in international relations. He also obtained a master's degree from the same institution. He then earned a PhD in international relations with interest in petroleum, also from Obafemi Awolowo University in 1984. He was also awarded a postdoctoral degree from the University of Maryland, US.[3]

Works
Soremekun has edited several books, some of these books are
- Governance and Democratization in Nigeria (1995),
- Nigeria's Second Republic (1988). [5]
Soremekun has worked in various fields, including journalism; he has worked as a staff writer in political affairs, for Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, and for Times International and Daily Times of Nigeria as a staff writer. Also he was a writer in Daily Times editorial board and Daily Times of Nigeria, Lagos, as a part-time worker. He was also an editorial training instructor for Times Newspaper Training Centre, Daily Times Lagos, also a visiting editorial board member of The AM News; this is a pro-democracy newspaper that was used during military rule in Nigeria, a country in west Africa. And he worked as visiting editorial board member of The Guardian and The Compass newspapers. all this was done due to his interest in journalism. [6]
