उस्ताद गुलाम फ़रीदुद्दीन अयाज़ अल-हुसैनी कव्वाल पाकिस्तानी कव्वाल हैं. [2] वह दिल्ली के कव्वाल बच्चन का घराना से संबंधित है। वह और उनके रिश्तेदार उस स्कूल ऑफ म्यूज़िक (घराना) के ध्वजवाहक हैं, जिसे शहर के नाम से दिल्ली घराना के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। वह हिंदुस्तानी शास्त्रीय संगीत की विभिन्न विधाओं जैसे ध्रुपद, ख्याल, तराना, ठुमरी और दादरा का प्रदर्शन करते हैं। अयाज़ अपने छोटे भाई, उस्ताद अबू मुहम्मद के साथ कव्वाल पार्टी का नेतृत्व करता है। [3] वे शायद पाकिस्तान में और दक्षिण एशियाई उपमहाद्वीप में सबसे अधिक मांग वाले कव्वाल्स हैं। [1]

प्रारंभिक जीवन


फरीद अयाज़ का जन्म 1952 में हैदराबाद, भारत में हुआ था। [4] 1956 में उनका परिवार पाकिस्तान के कराची शिफ्ट हो गया। उन्होंने अपने पिता उस्ताद मुंशी रजीउद्दीन अहमद खान कव्वाल के साथ शास्त्रीय संगीत में प्रशिक्षण शुरू किया। उनकी जड़ों का पता अमीर खुसरो के सबसे पुराने शिष्यों में से एक के पारिवारिक पेड़ से लगाया जा सकता है। [5] उनके पिता, मुंशी रजीउद्दीन कव्वाल भी अपने करियर की शुरुआत में अपने चचेरे भाई कव्वाल बहाउद्दीन खान और मंज़ूर नियाज़ी कव्वाल (फ़रीद के मामा) के साथ गाते थे। [1] स्कूल खत्म करने के बाद उन्हें अपनी उच्च माध्यमिक शिक्षा पूरी करने के लिए कराची के PECHS कॉलेज में भर्ती कराया गया। उनकी क्षमता को ध्यान में रखते हुए, नेशनल कॉलेज के छात्र संघ के महासचिव फसाहत अली खान ने उन्हें 1975-76 के शैक्षणिक वर्ष के दौरान नेशनल कॉलेज में शामिल होने के लिए राजी किया। उन्होंने अधिकांश अंतर-कॉलेज संगीत प्रतियोगिताओं में भाग लिया और हर बार कॉलेज के लिए प्रथम पुरस्कार और ट्रॉफी जीती। उन्होंने उस वर्ष एकल प्रदर्शन में किसी भी व्यक्ति द्वारा जीते गए अधिकांश ट्रॉफियों के पिछले सभी रिकॉर्ड तोड़ दिए। उनके द्वारा जीती गई ट्रॉफियां अभी भी नेशनल कॉलेज कराची के मूल्यवान खजाने में से हैं। कुछ प्रतियोगिताओं में, न्यायाधीशों ने उनकी भागीदारी पर सवाल उठाया, क्योंकि वह एक पेशेवर गायक थे और प्रतियोगिताएं शौकीनों के लिए थीं। अपनी किशोरावस्था में, उन्हें पहले से ही हिंदुस्तानी संगीत की अर्ध-शैली के एक उच्च प्रतिभाशाली गायक के रूप में माना जाता था।

फरीद अयाज और अबू मुहम्मद कव्वाल ब्रदर्स अपने सूफी प्रदर्शन के लिए लोकप्रिय हैं। उन्हें पाकिस्तान में सबसे लोकप्रिय कव्वाल पार्टी माना जाता है और कुछ ही बचे हैं। उन्होंने यूनाइटेड किंगडम, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका, कनाडा, फ्रांस, जर्मनी, इटली, नीदरलैंड, पुर्तगाल, ऑस्ट्रिया, भारत, केन्या, नेपाल, जिम्बाब्वे, बांग्लादेश, क्रोएशिया, तुर्की, मोरक्को, ग्रीस, मिस्र, बुल्गारिया, ट्यूनीशिया, बेल्जियम में प्रदर्शन किया है। ईरान, संयुक्त अरब अमीरात, सऊदी अरब, जॉर्डन, रोमानिया, मॉरीशस, हांगकांग और दक्षिण अफ्रीका। [6][7][8]


उन्होंने टाइम्स ऑफ इंडिया और पाकिस्तान के जंग ग्रुप द्वारा आयोजित अमन की आशा में भी प्रदर्शन किया। [9]
