I have done two below steps but likely dotnet is not available so I just get error

1- Installing dotnet Build apps - SDK v2.1.403 from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/dotnet-core/2.1
Picking : .NET Core Binaries: x64

2- Downloading Canvas precompiled from here:
https://github.com/Illumina/canvas/releases
Canvas-1.38.0.1554.master_x64.tar.gz

[fi1d18@cyan01 ~]$ /temp/hgig/fi1d18/Canvas-1.39.0.1598+master_x64/Canvas.dll --help
-bash: /temp/hgig/fi1d18/Canvas-1.39.0.1598+master_x64/Canvas.dll: Permission denied
[fi1d18@cyan01 ~]$ dotnet /temp/hgig/fi1d18/Canvas-1.39.0.1598+master_x64/Canvas.dll --help
-bash: dotnet: command not found

Could you please help me in installing Canvas?

I only noticed a file created in my directory
